Target Group, the business process services and software provider is today celebrating its 40th year as a successful South Wales business. The company works with renowned financial services brands and public sector organisations from around the world and will be marking its rise from early beginnings in a small office in Cathedral Road, Cardiff to an employer of over 1000 people in state of the art facilities in Imperial Way, Newport, and Cowbridge Road East, Cardiff.
Since 1979 the company has navigated successfully through a fast-changing world, innovating and growing steadily into the business it is today – a business that services over 19 million accounts for over 50 clients (including DVLA, RBS, Barclays and Santander), and employing over 1000 people in six locations across the UK.
As part of the celebrations Newport Mayor William J. Routley will visit Target Group’s Newport HQ to herald its achievements and to congratulate its current staff for their contributions to the local area. In the last year Target staff have raised £40,000 for charities, supported or sponsored six local sports teams including Whitchurch RFC’s Women and Girls teams and Church Village FC’s Under 10s, and its Cardiff and Newport offices are both now ‘zero waste to landfill’ sites.
Ian Larkin, CEO of Target Group says:
“We are thrilled to be celebrating our 40th year in business and are extremely proud of our South Wales heritage. Target Group came from early beginnings as a software provider and is now a highly respected technology and services business. That evolution is down to the efforts and talents of all our staff, today and in the past that have helped us to get to this stage. The future is bright and our aims remain the same, to help our clients and our community.”
William J. Routley, Mayor of Newport says:
“I’m very happy to be able to support a local business as it celebrates such a milestone and I would like to wish them many more years of continued success in Newport.”
