Meet our expert, Bethan Rich

Target wouldn’t be Target without its fantastic experts.

What do you like best about working at Target?

The diverse range of clients and portfolios that we administer – no two days are the same in Financial Crime!

What do you enjoy most about your role?

Having the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the business whilst maintaining compliance with the regulatory environment.

What would you want someone to know coming into this role?

It’s a fast paced environment, so you need to be able to deal with change and adapt to different situations quickly.

What’s the most “memorable” project you’ve been on?

As I’ve only been at Target since April, I’ll use an external project – I’ve recently been part of a local Community Interest Project with MyFi Wales. The rural village where I live is being connected to the fastest Broadband in the UK with a speed of 10 Gb – working from home with dodgy Wifi will be a thing of the past!

Understanding all the moving parts of such a diverse business as Target.

What motivates you to do what you do at Target?

I’m keen to make enhancements to the way we do things so we can improve the services we offer to clients.

My “To Do” List – I like to see progress as I tick things off as completed!

In your opinion, what is a good customer experience?

Listening and understanding what the customer wants, then helping them to achieve it.

What are the values that drive you?

Integrity, trust and honesty.

What does inspirational leadership look like for you?

Leading by doing – if other people see you going in the right direction, they’ll want to follow you. Empower them to make decisions, praise them when they succeed and allow them to learn from their mistakes.

Who has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work?

My Mum and Dad – they were teachers and were passionate about helping to educate children in the subjects they taught.

What are some of your favourite hobbies outside of work?

Spending quality time with my family and walking our two dogs in the beautiful Welsh village where I live.

What’s your ‘target’ in life/work?

To give my teenage daughters the confidence to be whatever makes them happy in life.

A professional dancer, something very different!

Coffee Shop Assistant at Oliver’s Coffee Shop Cardiff when I was 16.
