In June and July, volunteers from Target Group helped out at Amelia Trust Farm – a community sanctuary supporting vulnerable people in the Vale of Glamorgan. Target employees have a ‘volunteering day’ each year which they can use to take part in activities with charities and community groups. The teams got stuck in at the Farm, helping with site maintenance to make sure the Farm is in great shape for its visitors.
It looks like they had a really rewarding experience. Let’s hear what our volunteers had to say:
“It was great to learn how the farm helps children who may not have been settled in main stream education, helping them develop outside of school and learn new things.”
“It was a great day, good to get out of the ‘office’ and meet new faces outside of the usual work stresses. We learnt about the objectives of the farm and its importance to the students who attend. Volunteering through the company is a great way to try something new and to contribute to the local community.”
“It was so nice to get out and meet the team face to face after over a year of working from home. We did some painting and gardening, had a lovely lunch from the café, and even had a chance to walk around and see the animals.”
